Program design and software development Depending on the hardware platform(s) and the operating system(s) being used, one or more of our technical consultants will develop the overall programming strategy for each system in order to meet the automation objectives. Using the functional specification and/or in close cooperation with your staff this strategy is developed. Software will be written following the program design. At Universal Automation, we strongly believe in documenting every software in detail. Following the programmer's thinking will be easy from the program documentation even when multiple hardware platforms are used. An example of multiple hardware platforms and operating systems is using several PLCs, Intelligent modules with their own operating systems (such as Allen-Bradley's Control Coprocessor), and a personal computer using Microsoft softwares such as Visual Basic, Excel, and Access. |
